Global Women's Voices: Share Personal Stories

The personal is political.

At some point in our lives, most women have had experience trying to access family planning and reproductive health services - contraception, abortion, gynocological or maternal care.

If we keep these experiences to ourselves, they remain our individual experiences. If we share them, they become part of the global movement for women's reproductive rights.

Around the globe anti-woman and anti-abortion forces have put up social, economic and political barriers to reproductive healthcare services for women and girls. By contributing your story to Global Women's Voices, you help other women see that they are not alone; you help build a community of people who understand the real-world impact of restrictive laws and defunding of services.

What is your story?

  • Are you a woman who has had trouble getting the contraception, abortion or other services you needed because of high costs or restrictive laws? Are you a woman who needed and/or got help paying for an abortion or contraception? Is female genital mutilation an issue in your community? Have you been or known the victim of forced or coerced sterilization?

  • Are you a doctor or service provider who has seen first-hand the difficulties of obtaining reproductive health services?

  • Are you a researcher who has found support or funds for research on women's reproductive healthcare lacking?

  • Are you an activist that has done something to make sure women can get the services they need?
