Who will be attending the conference?
All students and young activists interested in progressive and feminist issues and specifically those interested in building their leadership skills are encouraged to attend. The conference is geared toward campus activists, including traditional and nontraditional students, faculty, and staff.
This conference will benefit seasoned activists as well as beginners with little or no leadership experience. However, you don't need to be a student. Our program focuses largely on the grassroots efforts of students, but the issues we discuss at the conference are relative to the reproductive justice and youth feminist community as a whole.
How will this conference help me on campus?
The goal of this conference is to encourage and prepare young women to become the social and political leaders for their generation. Skill-building workshops will educate conference participants on a wide array of topics and provide them with critical skills to return to their campus and employ them immediately!
Networking with other feminist activist from around the country is another main goal of the conference. Students will have the opportunity to build alliances with feminists from other campuses.
Where is the conference?
The conference is being held at the Double Tree by Hilton which is 5 minutes from Washington D.C. and Reagan National Airport. Most of the conference activities will be held on Saturday and Sunday at the Double Tree.
The address to the hotel is 300 Army Navy Drive Arlington, Virginia, 22202. The hotel is accessible to Crystal City Metro station, which is only a few short blocks away.
For the Congressional Visit Day on Monday, activities will be on Capitol Hill, and further details will be coming closer to the conference.

What is included in the cost?
- Two days of workshops, leadership training, and exposure to leaders and activists from across the country.
- Continental Breakfast and a snack on both Saturday and Sunday.
- Optional Congressional Visit Day for those who stay through Monday, March 25th.
- Conference materials, informational handouts and fact sheets.
How will I pay for this?
There are several things you could do to get funding for your groups to attend the conference. The best way first might be to ask your university to sponsor your group, especially if your group is recognized by your university. Many universities offer specific travel vouchers for training events that often go unused and many departments allocate money to students who attend educational trainings and conferences. For example, the Women's Studies or Political Science department at your university might be interested in granting money to students for a conference like this. Remember, you should ask any academic department and/or professors that you feel would be willing to sponsor your group to come to the conference. So ask as many departments as you can for support!

When should I arrive at the conference?
The conference will begin on Saturday March 23 at 9:45 am, but attendees who are coming in from out of state should arrive Friday night before the first day of the conference.
When does the conference end?
The conference ends at 4:00 pm on Monday, March, 25th or after attendees have finished visiting their respective members of Congress. However, those unable to stay for the Congressional Visit Day portion of the conference can expect activities to end on Sunday at 5:00 pm.
What should I wear?
The conference itself will be business casual (pants and a top are fine), but you should bring one nicer outfit (a suit if you have one, or a jacket with slacks or skirt with button down shirt, etc.) if you plan on participating in the Congressional Visit Day.
Is the Hilton in Crystal City wheelchair accessible?
YYes, the Double Tree is wheelchair accessible. However, for those with special needs, please email us at nyflc@feminist.org and let us know what sort of accommodations you need so that we can notify the facilities department in advance and can provide you all the information you may need before your arrival.
