Cerritos College FMLA Bring Dolores Huerta To Campus

The Cerritos College FMLA brings longtime labor rights leader, co-founder of the United Farm Workers, and FMF Board Member, Dolores Huerta to their campus as a keynote speaker for their Women’s History Month events. The campus paper covered their event and over 400 students on campus were excited about the event. Club members were excited about the turnout and impact the event had on campus. According to Nassrin Bonyadloo, a leader of the Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance and one of the key organizers of the event, "Women's History Month is a time to reflect and educate the community about women and women's issues. It is also a time to honor all who have helped women's flight to equality."

In addition to fundraising hundreds of dollars through events, like bake sales on campus, the group also approached faculty and staff fundraising 700 dollars directly through individual staff donations!
