What We Offer

The Planned Parenthood of Illinois Finance department works to ensure that all services provided are properly documented and billed to be in compliance with State and Federal regulations, and to ensure we bring in revenue in order to carry out our mission.

The Accounting Intern will work on a number of department projects including the main project of documenting and revising the finance department policies and procedures. The intern will learn how to analyze general ledger data and help to implement the purchasing card system in the general ledger. The intern will learn about month-end closing, reconciliations, and preparing for an audit. The intern may get to visit a few health centers during the internship if necessary for the work that they are doing.

- Gain experience working in financial
systems and processes in a non-profit organization
- Analyze purchasing card data, put together
write-up on how the purchasing card will work, and help to implement the purchasing card system in the general ledger understanding
- Opportunity to work on large amounts of
data and reconcile accounts
What We Ask

- Belief in and support of the Planned
Parenthood mission
- Interest and / or experience in accounting
or financial administration
- Superior organizational and analytical
skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office,
especially Excel
- Knowledge of general ledger systems is a
plus, but not required
- Commitment of 10 -15 hours per week for
the summer

Hours

Hours are flexible, with shifts available Monday through Thursdays 9 am to 5 pm, Fridays 9 am - 2 pm
