Center Background: The Center for Reproductive Rights is a non-profit legal advocacy organization dedicated to advancing reproductive freedom as a fundamental right that all governments are legally obligated to protect, respect, and fulfill. The Center engages in cutting-edge impact litigation, policy analysis, advocacy, research, and public education throughout the world, to achieve women's equality in society and to ensure that all women have access to appropriate and freely chosen reproductive health services.
Position Summary: The Center's Development department is looking for an enthusiastic, resourceful and highly organized intern with a commitment to reproductive rights issues to engage in a variety of mini-projects related to our fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This internship will provide someone with experience in nonprofit development and management, events planning, researching donor prospects, solicitation strategizing, in addition to gaining valuable office experience working in one of the nation's reproductive rights organizations.
The position is full-time, between June 03, 2013 through August 09, 2013. Interns are encouraged to seek outside funding for their internship. This internship is eligible for a small stipend if outside funding cannot be obtained.
The Center's summer internship program includes opportunities for lunches with experts in the field, social events, networking opportunities with other organizations, and other activities.
Responsibilities
The scope of this internship will cover, but is not limited
- Assisting with special events logistics.
- Assisting with the execution of mailings.
- Conducting research on individuals and
institutional prospects.
- Assisting with the creation of donor
profiles.
- Managing special projects related to
donor outreach and research.
- Assisting with general administrative
duties.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated administrative skills
- Skills in Microsoft Office programs,
including Excel
- Exceptional online research skills
- Experience working with Raiser?s Edge or
other fundraising software is a plus
- High level of discretion and sensitivity
to donor confidentiality issues
