(DOHMH) Primary Care Information Project (PCIP) is devoted to improving population health through health information technology. PCIP was awarded funding to become the Regional Extension Center in New York City for Health (NYC REACH). In collaboration with The Fund for Public Health in New York (FPHNY), a not for profit corporation serving as program partner with DOHMH to implement and advance public health initiatives, PCIP/NYC
REACH is seeking an Outreach Specialist. This position is grant funded through February, 2014, with good potential for extension.

The Outreach Specialist will be one of the primary links between the healthcare providers and PCIP/NYC REACH. The Outreach Specialist will serve a vital role in helping PCIP/NYC REACH achieve its goal of assisting thousands of NYC primary care providers to adopt EHRs. Some major duties of the Outreach Specialist role are:

o Conduct on-site visits to educate and
recruit partners (health plans, hospitals, medical societies, and Independent Practice Associations) about the PCIP/NYC REACH EHR program.
o Work with the Outreach Director to develop
comprehensive outreach strategy for Staten Island.
- Manage relationships with NYC REACH
providers and community partners to implement borough specific outreach strategy by working with key decision makers/
- Understand and keep populations in your
assigned borough by creating community dashboard and disseminating the information to community partners and providers
- Understand Meaningful Use measures in your
borough and schedule events based on low utilization
- Research how Meaningful Use guidelines
affect specialty settings
- Disseminate outreach materials to assist
providers with enrollment, including marketing materials, cost sheets, and FAQ documents
- Organize, attend, and present at events
and conferences to promote PCIP/NYC REACH and educate providers on Meaningful Use
- Work with teams within PCIP to improve the
quality of care for patients
- Organize and support provider
participation in on-line EHR education sessions
- Collect enrollment paperwork

Requirements
Undergraduate degree and some experience in public
health, outreach, sales, or marketing. Ability
to disseminate information clearly and concisely with providers and colleagues and work well with all levels of management. Strong organizational
skills. Ability to travel throughout all
boroughs -particularly Staten Island; weekend and night attendance of events and conferences; team player; positive attitude; must meet monthly recruiting targets.

Access to a car is required for Staten Island site visits

Preferred Skills
Master?s degree or at least one to two years full time experience in public health, outreach, sales, or marketing. Experience with hospitals and insurance companies are highly desirable. Must have working knowledge of Excel and Word, knowledge of Power Point and experience with Salesforce CRM software is a plus. Understanding of Meaningful use is a plus. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
