Description:

Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Transgender, Questioning and Ally Services is seeking an Education and Outreach Coordinator. Responsibilities of the job are to lead and facilitate the development of a new peer support program, and the production of the LGBTQA Center's signature, community-building events. This person will also mentor and support LGBTQA student staff, leaders, and organizations, educate individuals and organizations about LGBTQA issues and concerns, collaborate with organizations on and off campus, and represent the LGBTQA Center at campus resource and information fairs.

Eligible candidates must possess at minimum a bachelor's degree with four years of experience in a specialized or related field, as well as strong leadership, community building, and communication skills. Demonstrated understanding of the experience of people with diverse sexual orientations and gender identities and their communities, of young adult development, and of issues associated with outreach to vulnerable populations required. Ability to organize and lead large-scale projects, maintain confidentiality, and deal effectively with wide range of University personnel, students and the public required. A proven record of a commitment to diversity and fostering a collaborative multicultural environment required.
