Towson University, a growing, visionary, metropolitan university, is seeking a dynamic, experienced, highly motivated individual to fill this key position in the Division of Administration and Finance, Management Advisory & Compliance Services department.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for planning, conducting, and supervising compliance reviews and evaluations of University departments; making recommendations for improvement with regard to internal processes; serving as a point of contact for outside auditors; serving as the University consultant for matters of compliance and internal controls; coordinating responses and follow-up on all internal and external audits including Legislative audits and periodic University System of Maryland audit reviews; preparing and reviewing the annual NCAA Financial Information and supporting documentation; developing reports to extract and monitor financial information with regard to compliance reviews, disputable transactions, and fraud; conducting investigations of fraud and/or misappropriation when warranted; providing presentations and information to the campus community when necessary.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in related field and five years of progressively responsible experience. Knowledge of professional accounting, auditing standards, and internal controls; knowledge of the University System of Maryland, state, federal, and NCAA laws and regulations; knowledge of best practices in higher education; knowledge of PeopleSoft, FRS, and other software. CPA and Master's Degree preferred. A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
Salary:
Competitive salary with full University benefits to include 22 days of annual leave, 14 holidays, personal and sick days; tuition remission; and excellent health, life, and retirement plans. This position is contingent on funds being available at time of hire.
