what we offer

Planned Parenthood of Illinois' online advocacy program consists of over 20,000 members and annually generates tens of thousands of messages to legislators. Our e-advocacy program plays a critical role in moving pro-choice initiatives and is building a powerful voice for grassroots activism on choice issues throughout the state.

The E-Organizer Intern will work with PPIL's Public Affairs Manager to research various online marketing, visibility, and outreach strategies. This will involve maintaining and expanding our presence on MySpace and Facebook, investigating other social networking sites, and activating the contacts we gain through these methods. Finally, the intern will be responsible for maintaining and content development for PPIL blogs.

The intern will be responsible for setting online recruitment goals, working to increase membership and participation on social networking sites, and tracking and evaluating various recruitment techniques. The intern will submit a written report about his or her work, as well recommendations for next steps at the completion of the internship.

- Experience with web-based research
- Excellent writing skills required
- Some graphic design experience required
- Experience with HTML, Dreamweaver, and CSS helpful
- Willingness to assist where needed
- Commitment of 10 hours per week for the semester

Hours are flexible, with shifts available Monday through Friday 9 am to 5 pm
