Do you want to see more women in politics? Tired of the United States ranking eighty-fourth in the world for women in elected office, behind Mexico, China, and Pakistan?

Emerge America a political leadership training program for Democratic women is seeking an intern. If you are enthusiastic about the advancement of women in politics, then this is the internship for you!

Our mission is to build a national network of state based affiliates that train Democratic women to run for public office and we need your help.

Emerge originated in the San Francisco Bay Area (www.emergeca.org) 7 years ago and currently has state-based programs in 9 other states. For more information about Emerge America, please see our website at www.emergeamerica.org.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a self-motivated intern to help keep our organization running smoothly.
We are looking for someone who is:

-Computer literate
-Comfortable with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
-Familiar with general office operations
-Passionate about the advancement of women in politics

Duties included but are not limited to:

-Online research
-Learning and using NGP (a Democratic campaign software database)
-Communications via new technologies
-Fundraising research
-Filing and mailings as needed
-Assist with Future States development project
-Assist with developing a Communications Plan

This position will require a commitment of 8 to 20 hours each week, for a minimum of three months. Hours can be flexible to accommodate a class schedule.

PLEASE NOTE: This is an UNPAID internship. However, we are happy to work with your school to allow you to earn college credit.

Emerge America is located in downtown San Francisco and is very accessible by public transportation.
