National Collegiate Global Women and Human Rights Conference 2005

Thanks to all of those who attended our National Collegiate Global Women's and Human Rights Conference on April 9-11, 2005!

The conference was a great success and hundreds of students from across the nation attended; interaction with speakers and fellow attendees presented the students with a chance to share opinions, identify problems, and brainstorm possible actions and activities to work on issues affecting women worldwide.

Attendees were representative of the nation, arriving from as close as Washington, D.C. to as far away as California, Oregon, and Texas. Over 400 people attended the conference, representing nearly one hundred college campuses across the United States and coming from 36 different states.

Students took this opportunity to examine international family planning, health funding aid, international treaties for human rights and the environment, sweatshops, anti-slavery, anti-globalization, human rights, peace, and environmental movements.

Thanks again to all those who attended and to those who spoke for making the weekend such a success! Please be sure to sign up for global alerts so you can get involved in campaigns across the country from the Feminist Majority Foundation and other organizations who attended the conference.
