Women of Color & Feminism
|
|
Social, political, and economic equality can only be achieved once we also eliminate racism, classism, and imperialism. The goal of the Feminist Majority Foundation Campus Program is to provide tools/skills to educate and inform the next generation of feminist leaders. To that end we embrace the unique experiences women of color bring to the "kitchen table"--diversity only strengthens and empowers the feminist movement.
Celebrate the contributions and achievements made by women of color working towards gender equality on your campus.
Take Action
Work to build solidarity in the movement by:
- Working in coalition with multicultural student organizations on campus including women of color groups.
- Focusing on the intersections of gender, race, ability, age, sexual orientation and class; and how they affect all people. Remember that we can always learn from each other.
- Conducting a 'Faces of Feminism' Campaign- Highlight the diversity within feminism by creating a collage or other visual representation of feminist figures in all areas of society.
- Educating your campus about intersecting issues of reproductive justice with 'Did you know?' fliers and posters.
